My wife was addicted to drugs. It didn’t exactly enhance her spiritual praxis. We survived, barely. The kids made it, I think. They’re young. I’m hoping they forget the worst of it. Telling families that it’s ok to do drugs is horrible. It’s wrong. I know we don’t go in for literalism these days – we know so much! – but I like this verse: “Be not deceived, God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” American Christianity is Satanic. Anyone reading this should investigate Orthodoxy. There is long lost truth, order, and freedom to be found there, and a beautiful understanding of suffering that precludes the escape of intoxication.
